Ghundair/Gindavar
is also identified as Russian Olive family tree because of its outlook and
fruit resemblance to the Russian Olive tree. However, unlike Russian olive,
ghundair tastes sweet and mouth-drying.
Ghundair catches everyone’s sight because of its unique outlook; be it
its bark, leaves, the taste of its fruit, or the flowers. Ghundair appears
distinctive amongst all other trees around because of grayish-green leaves with
yellow and white mixed flowers. The most amazing thing about this tree is its
flower fragrance, it takes you into a mystical world. The tree blossoms in
late April and its fresh and aromatic fragrance pervades every nook and cranny
of the valleys. In ancient times, our ancestors used to store the fruit for the
winter season and used it to treat coughs. The benefits of ghundair don’t end
here; the wood of this tree is so beautiful and durable. It is used for décor
ranging from all types of furniture, and interior designing. It is expensive
because of its eye-catching beauty and its durability.
