Dandelion leaves were
considered to be one of the richest edible herbs of Hunza, but today people
rarely notice them. I remember My grand Mother used to love them and would send
me to collect leaves from the fields. We do not grow them, but we have a plant
of plants near water channels and around our fields. People of Hunza were
known for their healthy lives and most of the people lived for more than 100
years, so we can say that these herbs might have been a reason for the
longevity of life in Hunza in past. It is considered to be
one of the highest sources of vitamin A among culinary herbs containing
338% of vitamin A. It also is known for being the richest source
of vitamin K which strengthen bones. The amount
of vitamin K is 650% in dandelions. It also contains many other
essential minerals and is a great source of nutrition during winters.
We, the new generation
are so obsessed with unhealthy food. We have forgotten what our ancestors use
to eat and live happily.
Eat healthy, live longer!
